About Hilltop Country Day School
Since 1967, Hilltop Country Day School has been Sparta, New Jersey’s foremost independent day school, serving families throughout Sussex County by fostering academic excellence and character growth through focused education.
Lifelong learning
Our goal is to foster a love for learning in our students and intellectual curiosity. We teach them to ask the right questions and explore new ideas as they pursue their academic and personal development goals.
Small Classes, Big Impact
At Hilltop, each student is known by name and understood as an individual. Our intentionally small class sizes and low student-to-teacher ratios ensure personalized attention that meets each child exactly where they are. Advanced learners are challenged to reach new heights, while students who need additional support receive the patient, skilled guidance they deserve.
Where Learning Comes Alive
Education at Hilltop is joyful, engaging, and designed to inspire lifelong learning. We combine rigorous academics with hands-on discovery, creating an environment where intellectual curiosity thrives and learning becomes second nature.
Preparing Tomorrow's Leaders
Our non-sectarian, coeducational approach prepares students not just for their next school, but for life as a whole. We instill the values of integrity, resilience, and service that will guide them as compassionate leaders in their communities and beyond. At Hilltop Country Day School, every child is seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.
